The new Devotchka album was recorded in Arizona. The tracks sound familiar to fans, though once again this is another 2011 album with exemplary production. The band hath outdone itself not in lyrics or vocals, but in instrumentation and overall feel. While their sound is not as groundbreaking as it once was, there’s not much room for this kind of band to develop when they already started at the limits.
